Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists are experts in human movement. We have a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology which helps us to understand the causes of pain and injury, and how best to treat them.

Our assessment will include a detailed analysis of your movements followed by specific testing of the joints, ligaments, nerves and muscles that may be involved. Following the assessment, we will explain to you the causes of your pain and then discuss with you the best way to treat and manage the problem.  Treatments typically may involve joint mobilisation, spinal manipulation, massage and exercise therapy.

We offer a “hands-on” treatment approach supported by a home exercise program to maximise your recovery.  Physiotherapy appointments can be booked with Filipa, Sean, Nick or Declan.

Steroid Injections

Steroid injections can be used as part of a treatment program.  They can help reduce inflammation and reduce pain and allow you to participate in rehabilitation.  Sean is able to offer these at The Green Arbor site.

Hyaluronic Acid (Durolane) Joint Injections

Durolane is a single injection treatment designed to provide powerful and lasting pain relief when you are suffering from pain due to osteoarthritis.

It may be suitable for you if you have not responded to exercises, physiotherapy or steroid injections.

Sports Massage Therapy

Sports massage is a treatment method that releases and stretches the soft tissues of the body (muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints).  It is an effective method of injury prevention and tissue recovery after sporting performance.  Sports massage can also be a very efficient tool in reducing tension and stress for the non-sporting person making it accessible to everybody.

At your appointment a brief history will be taken and a treatment plan agreed.  Sports Therapy massage can be booked with Danielle.

Referral for Imaging

We are able to refer for private musculoskeletal x-ray, ultrasound and MRI scans.  We provide this option if needed following consultation and as part of the assessment process.

Medication

Sean is an Independent Prescriber and can give professional advice on analgesia medication.

Communication

As a clinic we will liaise with your GP and/or Consultant if needed as part of ensuring continuity of care.

Onward Referral

We work closely with a number of Consultants and GP’s locally and are able to refer onward as needed.
